Purdue University has named P. Christopher Earley, dean at the University of Connecticut School of Business, to take over as dean of Purdue’s Krannert School of Management.

Earley, according to an announcement made Thursday morning, will begin at Purdue in the fall semester, pending approval of university’s board of trustees.

Earley will fill a vacancy created by Richard Cosier, who stepped down last summer. Jerry Lynch, professor of economics, has been serving as interim dean. Cosier continues at Purdue as professor and co-director of the Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship.

Prior to taking his current job in January 2008, Earley was dean of the National University of Singapore Business School, chair of organizational behavior at London Business School in England, and Randall L. Tobias Chair of Global Leadership at Indiana University's Kelley School of Business.

Earley previously held visiting professorships at universities in China, Thailand, Hong Kong, the Czech Republic and Israel. He also has taught executives and consulted for companies in Europe and Asia, including Nestle, Cisco Systems Inc., Samsung, General Motors, Unilever, BAE Systems, and Eli Lilly and Co.
