One is left to wonder why Bill Styring [Oct. 15 Forefront] and others like him were so darned slow to engage in this issue. This is simply horrible economics and reeks of crony capitalism, even socialism. Yet, Indiana’s powerful people cowered at the prospects of questioning the bizarre business plan put forth by the governor and the plant’s sponsors for several years.
Is it too late? Only if they cower some more.
