Subscribe NowIndianapolis Police Chief Rick Hite and other city leaders say they plan to update a summer violence-reduction plan issued in June following a recent rise in fatal shootings. Through June 13, there were 68 homicides this year in the city, compared to 46 during the same time a year ago, a 48-percent increase. Nonfatal shootings, however, are down slightly, as are most other types of violent crime. The revised plan will be unveiled Wednesday afternoon.
