About 40 Indiana craft brewers and wineries will be setting up shop in the new wine and beer garden inside the fairgrounds' Grand Hall. The General Assembly this year lifted a longstanding ban on alcohol at the fair and organizers began accepting applications last month.
Fair spokesman Andy Klotz told WIBC-FM that interest came from breweries and wineries across the state. The available beer and wine will vary day to day.
Visitors to the beer garden will receive a wristband limiting them to three sample-sized servings of beer or wine. Alcohol won't be allowed to leave the Grand Hall.
The fair is scheduled for Aug. 1-17.
