Indiana lawmakers are entering the final three days of this year's legislative session with final decisions looming on the new state budget and some other difficult issues.
Legislators return to the Statehouse on Monday still looking for agreement on proposed changes to school funding that could shift money from many urban and rural districts with shrinking enrollments to those in growing suburban communities.
Other issues remain unsettled ahead of the General Assembly's Wednesday adjournment deadline.
Those include whether to allow needle exchange programs in more counties in response to an HIV outbreak in southern Indiana and the bill allowing the removal of the state's superintendent of public instruction as leader of the State Board of Education.
