Wayne DeVeydt, chief financial officer of Anthem Inc., and Dan Evans, CEO of Indiana University Health, are two of the four health care executives that serve on the 118-member board of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which has come under fire for blocking anti-smoking policies in countries around the world.

Bill Barnett has been named to the newly created position of chief research informatics officer at both the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute and the Regenstrief Institute. In addition to his new position, Barnett will continue to serve as associate director of the Indiana University Center for Advanced Cybersecurity Research and as a visiting professor at the IU School of Medicine. Before coming to IU in 2007, Barnett served as vice president and chief information officer at the Field Museum in Chicago. He holds an undergraduate degree from the College of William and Mary and a doctorate in archeology from Boston University.

Dr. James Callaghan became CEO of Franciscan St. Francis Health on July 1, overseeing hospital campuses in Indianapolis, Mooresville and Carmel, as well as the Franciscan Plainfield Health Center. Callaghan replaces Bob Brody, who is now senior vice president and chief operating officer of Franciscan Alliance’s ambulatory services and director of the Franciscan Physician Network. Since 2008, Callaghan served as president of Franciscan St. Anthony Health-Michigan City. Callaghan received his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame and earned his medical degree at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago. He later earned an MBA from Purdue University.
