InstallerNet is a technology services company that coordinates the installation of consumer electronics through a network of independently owned mobile and home electronics businesses.
Under the proposal announced today, InstallerNet’s 2,000 member companies will become part of MERA. MERA’s board of trustees has approved the acquisition, which will be voted on by the association’s 600 member companies. Voting results are expected within two weeks.
If the deal is approved, MERA will be restructured as a subsidiary of InstallerNet, but will be operated and managed separately. MERA President Barry Vogel will remain in his position at least temporarily.
Founded in 1996, MERA has no full-time staff and most of its leadership is member volunteers, Vogel said in a prepared statement.
“InstallerNet offers tremendous resources to help carry forward MERA’s mission and give our members a stronger voice in the industry,” he said.
