While President McRobbie has put in a solid performance, unfortunately he just doesn’t understand much about startups and early-stage companies [McRobbie: The university as an engine of innovation, Aug. 22].
In all fairness, he comes from a country not historically known as a hotbed of entrepreneurial activity. Yet there is another operative factor here: He really doesn’t think about this area. He frankly doesn’t have time or likely interest. Hence, there is a void in the role the university could play.
