When I was 12 years old, I wrote Mayor Hudnut and asked for a job to buy a bike. He wrote me a letter and said I was too young to work for his office, but he came to my church and gave me a new bike.
I had a reunion with him after 35 years in September 2015. I still have the original letter from the mayor. I love and respect him greatly. I presented him with a thank you card and flowers.
