  1. BR has really seen a turnover in tenants in the last 5 years Several prominent spaces that have remained vacant for much longer than normal. I wonder if Midtown Carmel has not reduced some of the appeal of BR. Combine the free parking and “newer” offerings make me think that Midtown has sucked some of the wind out of BR’s sails.

    1. Plus, if you haven’t been downtown in the Bottleworks Mass area, it is hopping. I suspect that also impacted BR.

    2. Agree, much of that crowd is now split between Carmel, Mass Ave, and to a lesser degree Downtown. The high profile crime incidents that took place over a number of years in BR were also not a help at all.

We used to go there a few times a year and especially during NCAA basketball season. A couple years ago it was 8PM and we looked around and thought, yeah, we need to get out of here.

    1. If that’s true (doubtful) it’s probably the worst time in recent history to get greedy on lease pricing. Small businesses are closing all over the place. Easy setup for a long vacancy.

  2. the city, or the water utility, or whoever, keeping BR ave more or less closed at/near guilford for a couple of years probably didn’t do any of the businesses nearby any good, but 36 years is a heck of a run for a place. Hope something else can go in there soon.
