Out of sight and out of mind has been the mantra of the mentally ill and homeless for over about 150 years in this state. Our legislature has avoided any real fix or funding since the mid 1800’s. The visible
Problem began locally when Gov Bayh closed Central State hospital in 1994. It was beyond repair, both for patient care and the physical structures. So here we are today with no solutions, and no real funding.
I propose you , Dana Black, to initiate an organization to fund and house the homeless, and then try and maintain it and provide the mental care also required. Good luck!
