Saica Group, a manufacturer of recycled paper for corrugated packaging headquartered in Spain, plans to build a $110 million manufacturing plant in Anderson, the company announced Tuesday.

Saica said the corrugated manufacturing facility will ultimately employ more than 100 people when it is fully operational.

The Anderson plant will be the company’s second facility in the United States. Its U.S. operations are currently based out of a facility in Hamilton, Ohio, known as Saica Pack.

The new, 350,000-square-foot facility in Anderson will include manufacturing, converting and production areas, along with a warehouse and office space, the company said. It is designed for production of more than 1.2 billion square feet of corrugated packaging.

CEO Susana Alejandro said in a news release that the company is committed to long-term growth in the U.S.

“This investment is the proof that we are moving forward with our plans in the U.S. as we are convinced that we can provide products that will differentiate us in a crowded market,” Alejandro said. “It reflects our deep commitment to delivering exceptional service, as we believe our knowledge and experience in the production of recycled lightweight papers and corrugated packaging will bring high performance packaging to the U.S. market while becoming more efficient in the use of materials.”

Construction on the facility is expected to begin in May, with operations beginning in the fourth quarter of 2026. Saica said it plans to add 50 full-time jobs in the first two years of operation, growing that number to more than 100 after completing a ramp-up phase.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. is offering Saica Group up to $2 million in conditional tax credits, $150,000 in training grants, and $300,000 in Industrial Development Grant Fund incentives, which the company will not be eligible to claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the jobs.

“We are excited that Saica has chosen Anderson for this new facility,” Mayor Thomas Broderick said in written remarks. “This investment into our community will assist us in our continued efforts of bringing into Anderson diversified advanced manufacturing opportunities.”

Plans for the Anderson facility were approved last week by Saica’s board of directors. The company said the plant will also serve as a backup location for clients already being served by the Hamilton facility.

Saica Group was founded in 1943 and employs more than 12,000 people around the world. The company has additional locations in Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Turkey, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, and Poland.
