A company that supplies air and water filter products said Tuesday it will create 43 new jobs through 2024, after spending nearly $4.9 million to expand its manufacturing space in Greenwood.

National Trade Supply, located at 2011 Southtech Drive, employs 157 people in Greenwood and 167 at retail locations throughout the state and country. That includes 43 local employees it added last year.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. said Tuesday it offered National Trade Supply $640,000 in conditional tax credits, which includes incentives for the jobs it added in 2020, plus the new jobs it plans to create.

National Trade Supply was founded as an HVAC e-commerce site in 2002 but has grown into a group of specialized e-commerce sites including FilterOutlet.com, DFfilterPro.com and flagship site DiscountFilters.com featuring its AirX and ClearChoice filter brands.

DF Filter Pro also has retail locations for mechanical contractors and homeowners in Greenwood and throughout Indiana and Illinois.

Last June, the company purchased a 143,000-square-foot building next door to its current facility and added manufacturing and automation equipment in both spaces, which has allowed it to increase production and fulfillment capacity. The new facility is fully operational.

“Demand for cleaner air and water and, therefore, our products had been steadily growing for years, and we continually found ways to safely and efficiently operate from a single facility,” the company’s chief operating officer, Todd Kenworthy, said in a statement.

“It became clear we couldn’t continue to serve our customers and employees properly without adding square footage to our vision,” he said. “When we considered our options to expand, we decided to remain in Johnson County because of the friendly business environment, welcoming community, low cost of living, access to a talented labor pool and easy interstate access.”

The company is currently recruiting for manufacturing, fulfillment and clerical positions. Interested applicants can apply online.

National Trade Supply made IBJ list of fastest growing private companies in 2007, when it topped the list, and in 2010.

Greenwood Mayor Mark Myers called the company “a true Greenwood success story.”

“The company has experienced tremendous growth and success since its founding here in 2002,” he said in a statement. “It’s no surprise to see them continuing on an upward trajectory.”
