  1. The state government of Illinois listens to the will of the people it sounds like. How nice that must be! A ruby red state would never.

  2. Greg Hinz of Crain’s Chicago, now semi-retired, was probably the best political columnist in the country. Glad to see his name pop up here.

  3. However this plays out, I would love to see Gov. Braun and state leaders put the same enthusiasm into an MLS team and stadium in Indianapolis. I fear red versus blue comes into play in both cases, but really, as a state, the Bears would still be Chicago’s team, an MLS franchise in Indy would benefit us all. Come on now, would the Bears really be good Hoosier citizens? No, it’s still about Chicago. Again, I fear we’re being used big time, even if the stadium IS built here. The same people who gripe about government/taxpayers helping rich owners build luxury stadiums are falling all over themselves on the Bears deal?? Aw come on now! Face it, next time the Colts come calling for stadium improvements…and they will at some point, ESPECIALLY if we build a stadium for the Bears — they’ll have all the reason in the world to back up their request$$$.
