  1. This assumes that American natives would want to do the jobs that the foreign workers now do. And for many if not most of the jobs, it is doubtful they would. The article did not cite any Dept. of Labor data or analysis to prove otherwise. It seems the federal proposal and the support of the Republican states is based on an anti-foreigners mindset.

  2. Canada and the EU thank you, Todd, for your enthusiastic support of programs designed to increase employment opportunities in their countries while contributing to the decline of US tech superiority. Generally, we’re not talking about farm labor, here. We’re talking about IT and scientific/medical research facilities. Foreign workers are hired because, as Elon pointed out, there aren’t enough really qualified US citizens to fill these jobs. The Tech Bros will call Vance, and this will all go away again…
