    1. While there is justification to deport those here illegally, it is shameful the vitriol and generalizations made. Many of these individuals have worked hard and diligently and to cavalierly depict all as the root of all evil is wrong. Yes, some have indeed caused accidents. And were there no accident with born and raised USA truckers? The nation was totally accident free and crime free until illegal immigrants entered the country, But, what about those who did enter the country legally but are caught in legal limbo of immigration check ins with a system underfunded and with too few immigration officials to respond on a timely basis. So rather the sitting around doing noting, many individuals caught in limbo seek and get jobs doing what, apparently, many US born citizens refuse to do (ahem, Indiana, West Virginia, Mississippi . . . . similar sad state states) such as drive truck and work long hours in meat processing plants (where employers pretend they don’t know some are in the nation illegally as these individuals will work for low wages). The monster of illegal immigration and employment is one created and sustained by dysfunction of US government administration + corporate greed.

    2. DD here is a great example of why we need to fund education more instead of continuing to cut funding… lol

  1. A good first step! Hope this helps slow or stops the daily-weekly crashes on I70 that totally shut the interstate down. Not to mention 65 and 69.

    1. It’ll slow the deliveries we all rely on for pretty much everything, that we can count on

    2. It will not. The vast, vast, VAST majority of fatal car crashes in Indiana are caused by citizens driving recklessly without insurance and/or without licenses. This act by the Republicans is purely performative and will have virtually zero impact on overall crash rates resulting in serious injury or fatality.

    3. Imagine if republicans cared half as much about school shootings as they do about sharing space with brown people

    4. Michael N

We disagree a lot, but you are correct on this. Trucking companies are having a tough time finding drivers
and this will make it harder.

The foreign drivers usually know the road signs and the rules of the road. The problem usually is the contractors that push these drivers very very hard. That causes sleep deprivation for many drivers.

    5. Michael N.

I personally found lefties far more obsessed with race than any republicans.

    1. Are these all licensed in Indiana, or the whole U.S.? The mentioned one in Pennsylvania.

    2. It would be interesting to see how many originally got there CDL here in Indiana.

    3. These foreign drivers get licensed in
almost every state, if not all. I used to encounter them from the west coast and the east coast.

  2. Hopefully this will open opportunities to those who are looking for a good paying job.
Its as simple as showing up and doing things the right way.

    1. Jobs are not easy to fill. Too many do not pass a drug test and for those who do, many do not pass the CDL tests. Perhaps those in need of these so-called great jobs will jump at the chance, particularly in devastated hard-hit states such as Indiana, West Virginia and Mississippi.

    2. These jobs have been open with good day for years… No foreigner is taking jobs from US citizens as the employers are desperate for workers and no citizens do not want to work.

We need immigration to fill jobs because US citizens are weak and coddled beings at this point.
