    1. Now it projected at $247K per bed. Could build 150 individual small houses for that. Of course all the additional care and services is probably half the costs.

  1. Can’t wait to see what they look like in 3 years.

    The demolition will be another $20 million at least.

    Hope it helps though. Downtown is embarrassing to tourists.

  2. There is no “cost effective” solution. There is only a solution with a cost. And that cost can be borne by the tax payer through the way of jails, and homeless outreach teams, emergency room visits, and pauper’s funerals. Or it can be borne through the way of assistance, safety for the entire city, the potential for people to put their lives back together and rejoin society. This is not bleeing heart liberalism. This is a conservative talking actual dollars and cents. Look up the average cost to build this type of facility. Do the math. Your tax dollars are much better spent in this manner than in the other.
