Indy trucking company to hire more than 90 new workers

An Indianapolis-based trucking company plans to add more than 90 jobs by the end of 2025 and invest $20 million to upgrade its southside facilities.

Renewable Transport Services Inc., also known as RTS, announced today it will upgrade its 100,000-square-foot building at 2916 Bluff Road, renovate its offices and buy additional trucks and trailers.

The company said in a news release that the expansion will allow it to create a dedicated regional division that will help decrease required time on the road for drivers. It specializes in the shipping of temperature-controlled and dry freight.

In 2020, RTS ranked 15th on the Indianapolis Business Journal’s Fast 25 list of fastest-growing private companies in the Indianapolis area.

RTS currently has 35 employees in Indianapolis and is hiring truck drivers. It plans to hire 93 more workers by the end of 2025.

The Indiana Economic Development Corp. offer RTS up to $1.3 million in conditional tax credits if it reaches it job creation goals.

The company is led by Noah Sodrel, whose family has been in the transportation business in one form or another since the 1860s.

Sodrel worked in his family business, Sodrel Truck Lines, out of Jeffersonville, for 25 years before starting his own company in 2016.
