  1. I was thinking 146th and River rd in Noblesville, but this is good. They need to have enough stores to sustain unlike Market District who only built one store.

    1. I feel like Market District was hoping for a better response and was wanting to roll out additional Market Districts and even Giant Eagle. Apparently the response has been good enough to keep the one store open, but not good enough to expand.

    2. I really thought the Market District would be the flagship and 3 or 4 Giant Eagles would be built, but instead they purchased Rickers

    1. Blame Fishers, on Allisonville debacle. They made a rule saying the old Marsh at 116/brooks school rd. ,had to be a grocery store ONLY. So kroger stopped the super store. Then Aldi built a new store just down 116th. Fishers is ran by fools

    2. For those wishing to play the home edition of “What’s been in IBJ about Fishers’ history?”, I’ll pass along a little known/remembered but original feature of Google:
      .
      site:ibj.com put-the-rest-of-your-search-criteria-here
      .
will cut down on a bazillion hits without site:URI

  2. How about a Publix Supermarket in some of these empty grocery stores?
People in Hamilton County would love 1 or 2…or 3. 😀
    And….Boone County
    And…Indy

  3. Murray, spend some time in Pittsburgh and you’ll see why. I can tell you many are old run down and very high priced. Hy-Vee is a great retailer and will be great for the Indy market.

    1. Spend time in Columbus, Ohio. Empty Giant Eagle stores around the city. Some are cut up for Dollar Stores some stay empty.

  4. Loved Hy-Vee in MO and MN. Praying to God they bring in Caribou Coffee for their in-store coffee kisok. I need a weekend/eve Caribou fix – IUPUI Campus Center is hard to get to.
