  1. As of 2024–2025, Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) Superintendent Aleesia Johnson’s compensation is approximately $290,000 per year. This includes a base salary, a $1,000 monthly car allowance ($12,000 annually), and benefits, with records showing her total compensation was roughly $280,000+ in 2023.

This salary is 397% higher than the median salary in the IPS Corp. It is also 149% higher than the average superintendent salary in the state of Indiana.

    1. why do these people have car allowances? They should use a fleet company that gives them a car and they pay for gas through a fleet card. An allowance is stupid and ripe for mismanagement.

  2. Always sad when people lose their jobs to no fault of their own.
That said, IPS enrollment is still decreasing and probably would be on life support without the migrant children.

    1. What’s the answer?

      Charters are just fraud cesspools.

Vouchers just let private schools raise prices more.

      Just get rid of schools?

    2. Private schools are not the problem. They add value, if they didn’t there would not be the high demand.
Again, people want high value for their dollars spent.
      Safe, high standards, and accountability.
