The Dallas Wings on Wednesday said the team’s home game against the Fever scheduled for June 27 is being moved from the 7,000-seat College Park Center to the 20,000-seat American Airlines Center. It will be the first time other than the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic season that the Wings will play a home game away from College Park Center.
Dallas joins three other WNBA teams who have rescheduled home games to larger arenas for the Fever this season for a total of six games. At least two other teams included home games at larger venues for their games against the Fever on their original schedule.
- The Atlanta Dream moved a May 22 game against the Fever from Gateway Center Arena (capacity 3,500) to State Farm Arena (capacity 19,050).
- The Washington Mystics moved home games scheduled for May 28 and Sept. 7 from CareFirst Arena (4,200) to CFG Bank Arena in Baltimore (13,300).
- The Chicago Sky will play home games against the Fever at the United Center (20,000-plus capacity) on June 7 and July 27 instead of Wintrust Arena (10,387). Tickets for the June 7 game sold out almost immediately.
- The Connecticut Sun and Las Vegas Aces were already prepared to play the Fever at larger venues when they announced their regular schedule. The Sun will play a July 15 game at TD Garden in Boston (19,580) instead of Mohegan Sun Arena (10,000) in Uncasville, Connecticut. The Aces will play a June 22 game at T-Mobile Arena (20,000) instead of Michelob Ultra Arena (12,000).
