So 1% of their stores are being closed? Not really a panic move as the headline suggests
250/6000 = 4.2%
They claim 25,000 locations elsewhere
They have 6,000 stores in the US and they’re closing 250 of those. 250/6000 still equals 4.2%.
Yes Chris – as I read it they were closing 250 of 25,000 stores which is 1%.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk about how outcomes change in a math equation when one is a variable number
The trajectory of some of these pizza businesses is fascinating. As a product of the late 70’s I saw Domino’s rocket to the top with guaranteed 30 minute delivery (eventually stopped due to the reckless driving it caused) only to crash 20 years later when people realized their product stunk to see it rise again with huge popularity among the younger gens today (quality not much better). We all witnessed what happened to Papa Johns over a short period of time. Pizza Hut seemed to be a stalwart going back to the 60’s but operationally they fell apart and also began to miss on quality despite innovations like stuffed crust – which my kids loved. Now I just make the best pizza right at home.
Man remember how great the in dining locations for Pizza Hut were back in the day! Felt like we going out to ‘fancy’ when I was a kid with the checkered flag table cloths and salad bar!! HaHa!
Ah…. remember when Fishers had a Pizza Hutt with a buffet. That was eating large!
add Noble Romans to the list of great pizza experiences in the 70’s, died, and has now risen up from its ashes. Still love their pizza better than all of them, except Blaze…
