The Yard in Fishers adds third eatery to complex’s lineup

The massive culinary-centric development slated for property east of Ikea in Fishers has added a third name to its list of restaurants—and that eventually could seed six other area locations.

Miami-based eatery operator Hip Cuisine Inc. announced Thursday that it would open a Rawkin Juice in The Yard at Fishers District, the 17-acre project on 116th Street east of Interstate 69 that is expected to include as many as 25 to 30 restaurant, entertainment, retail and service tenants.

The Rawkin Juice concept debuted in 2014 in Burbank, California. It is billed a “state-of-the-art organic-vegan kitchen,” serving a variety of cold-pressed juices and smoothies, salads, vegan meals and other “raw” cuisine.

The Fishers location would be the fourth for Rawkin Juice and its first outside of California. Hip Cuisine expects to break ground on the location later this year and open the eatery in the first quarter of 2019.

Hip Cuisine is in expansion mode. It said in a media release that it hopes to have twenty-five company-owned locations over the next 36 months, although it wasn’t clear whether that would include other eatery concepts in its stable.

Hip Cuisine said the Fishers Rawkin Juice would have a production kitchen that could give Hip Cuisine the ability to add another six eateries in the general vicinity. Again, it wasn’t clear whether those would all fall under the Rawkin Juice umbrella, or might include other concepts.

In December, the developer of The Yard announced that it had lined up its first two tenants: two existing concepts from St. Elmo Steak House operator Craig Huse—Burger Study and 1933 Lounge.
