  1. A study by a gaming company advocated for more casinos? I am shocked and stunned at this conclusions, which surely was totally not biased.

    Next, you’ll tel me that “community group” funded by helicopter owners and manufacturers … has an agenda.

    Reminder, Freeman is the same legislator who, when presented with a way to get the federal government to pay for upgrading our roads at the mere cost of giving lanes that we haven’t needed for decades to buses, threw a tantrum that jeopardized the funding. Maybe he doesn’t like those of us who figured out that IndyGo has provided a lot more in road funding to Indianapolis than he has.

    Freeman should go spend the weekend in Greektown in Detroit or downtown St. Louis and see how downtown casinos are working out there. Heck, as a taxpayer, I’d be willing to pay for this legislative field study.

  2. For $500 Million to join MLS plus another $500 Million for the stadium, I’d much rather pay the $150 + $500 Million casino costs, as the returns to pay it off would happen in a few quick years. The MLS investment will never pay off even in 50 years.

    1. You’re assuming a casino doesn’t kill the golden goose of our convention business.

      The Visit Indy support for a downtown casino was lukewarm at best.
