Fantastic Food Fest

Ted Allen, of “Chopped” and “Butcher Babe” Loreal Gavin are among the headline speakers, but Indiana food is the real star at this first-ever event. Demonstrations by local chefs Regina Mehallick and Brad Gates, cooking classes (for additional fees), and over 200 exhibitors fill the hall. Note: Admission does not include sampling tickets, which run $1-$5. .

A Tribute to Alfred Hitchcock

Guest conductor Richard Kaufman leads the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra in a program of film clips and cinematic music celebrating the work of Alfred Hitchcock. Included: Excerpts from the scores of “North by Northwest,” “Dial M for Murder,” and, of course, “Psycho.”

Carole Lombard Films

One of the great screen comedians of the 1930s Fort Wayne native Carole Lombard is the focus of a series of films being presented by historian Eric Grayson at Garfield Park over the next . First up, the rare 1934 film “Bolero,” about a dancer (George Raft) in search of a partner. If you want to go full Lombard, mark your calendar for “Rumba” on February 20 and the classic “To Be or Not to Be” on March 26.

On Jan. 15, The Indianapolis Museum of Art screens the 1956 Alfred Hitchcock thriller “The Man Who Knew Too Much.”

The Indiana Repertory Theatre stages the two-person, multi-character comedy “The Mystery of Irma Vep” Jan.12-Feb. 14.

Writers Philip Gulley and Scott Russell Sanders team with songwriters Krista Detor and Tim Grimm for “Made in Indiana,” a performance Jan. 15 at Indiana Landmarks Center.
