Make sure to bring your own lawn chair for this one-of-a-kind screening of the 1969 Paul Newman film “Winning” at the IMS, courtesy of the Indianapolis International Film Festival’s Roving Cinema series. General admission tickets are still available but, alas, VIP admission—which includes laps around the track—are sold out.

“Rock-IN-Roar 500”
The 500 isn’t just a reference to the upcoming race: 500 musicians—led by Troye Kinnett (keyboardist for John Mellencamp) and driver Will Power—will be performing One Republic’s “Love Runs Out” at this first-ever, free event hosted by Kristi Lee and Townsend Bell. That’s just the start. Local bands perform throughout the evening. Attendees will also get a first look/listen for “Spectacle: Sights and Sounds of the 500 on Georgia Street,” which will be played evening until race day.

Broad Ripple Art Fair
More than 225 artists hope you’ll become a collector as they sell their work at this staple of the Indy arts years. As in the past, hands-on demonstrations give visitors the opportunity to do some creating for themselves—and get a taste of what it would be like to try an Art Center class. Live music—including a kids’ stage—food vendors are no doubt familiar elements. What you may not know about is the May 20 preview party, which includes appetizers and a chance to buy work before others get a look.
