Carmel police are looking for a burglary suspect after a 20-year-old said she woke up Wednesday morning to find a strange man in her parents’ home. The woman said he fled at about 8:30 a.m. after the two made eye contact. Investigators found evidence that the man had been through several rooms. Shortly after he fled, another Carmel house was broken into, and investigators believe the two cases are connected.
Senior Health Insurance Company of Pennsylvania and Fuzion Analytics Inc., both of which operate out of Carmel, appointed Patrick Bogan as chief information officer. Senior Health Insurance was created by the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance in 2008 to take over troubled long-term-care policies from Carmel-based CNO Financial Group Inc. Fuzion is a data mining and analytics firm that serves long-term-care insurers. Bogan previously worked for Senior Health Insurance from 2008 to 2011. He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer information systems from Purdue University.

Carmel Police are warning residents about an increase in burglaries in the city. The city has received reports of at least 17 burglaries since June 1, including four over the July 4 holiday. In many of the burglaries, intruders knocked on the front door before breaking into unoccupied homes. If somebody answered the door, the suspects claimed to be selling magazines or looking for a lost pet.
The lawsuit accuses convicted money manager Keenan Hauke’s former accounting firm of negligence for failing to monitor Hauke’s bank accounts, enabling him to use investor funds for his personal use. Hauke was sentenced in March to 10 years in prison.
