The average rate for 30-year mortgages fell to 3.57 percent from 3.61 percent in the week ended Oct. 31, according to Bankrate.com. The rate for 15-year mortgages fell from 2.90 percent to 2.89 percent.

Sales/acquisitions

-Intelligent Environmental Leasing LLC bought a 12,125-square-foot industrial building at 905 N. Capitol Ave. The buyer was represented by George Dury of Dury Investments. The sellers, Linda Hendricks and Lisa K. Green, were represented by Paul Dick and Kevin Dick of Colliers International.

-Intelligent Environmental Leasing LLC bought a 3,450-square-foot office building at 909 N. Capitol Ave. The buyer was represented by George Dury of Dury Investments. The seller, Duncan Supply Co. Inc., was represented by Paul Dick and Kevin Dick of Colliers International.

-PP Indy 8 LLC bought the 420-unit Forest Hills Apartments at 5500 Pleasant Hill Circle. The property was listed for $8 million. The sale price was not disclosed. The buyer was represented by Michael Wernke of the local office of Marcus & Millichap. The seller, Florida-based Cortland Loan Services, was represented by Scott Harris and Kyle Shoemaker of Marcus & Millichap's Oak Brook, Ill., office and Michael Regan and Francesco Carriera of the firm's Tampa office.

Correction

A construction item in last week's Real Estate Weekly included the wrong address for a 14,400-square-foot office build-out for VMS BioMarketing. The work, performed by Capitol Construction, was at 501 Pennsylvania Parkway.

Butler locked down after robbery

The Butler University campus was on lockdown Sunday for more than two hours after the armed robbery of a nearby pharmacy. Two men robbed the CVS store at 119 W. 56th St. about 11:30 a.m. and were spotted on the campus minutes later after abandoning their vehicle. Dallas Beard, 38, was arrested by Butler police but the other suspect escaped on foot. Police say the pair may have been involved in other CVS robberies in Plainfield, Greenfield and Mooresville.
 

Boy injured in drag-racing crash

A father is in jail Monday after crashing his car while drag-racing on a busy Indianapolis street, critically injuring his 2-year-old son. Valentin Duran, 25, was arrested after being treated at the hospital Saturday and faces numerous charges, including child neglect and reckless driving. His son, who was in the passenger seat without a car seat or seat belt, was taken to Riley Hospital for Children in critical condition. Duran was racing a black Mustang on Georgetown Road about 5:30 p.m. when he crashed into another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. Police are still looking for the black Mustang.
 

Johnson County passes tougher smoking law

Johnson County commissioners on Monday morning approved countywide public smoking restrictions that will take effect in January. The ordinance is more restrictive than previous laws passed in Franklin and Greenwood.
