U.S. Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana is appealing a Marion County election board ruling that he can't use the address of the Indianapolis home he sold in 1977 for his voter registration. The appeal argues that the Marion County Election Board acted against the Indiana Constitution and state law with its 2-1 decision last week. The appeal argues that the election board decision disenfranchises Lugar and his wife, Charlene. Lugar seeks a quick decision because April 9 is the voter registration deadline for the May 8 Indiana primary.
A 34-year-old man died after being shot early Wednesday at Oaktree Apartments, near 42nd Street and Post Road, on the east side of Indianapolis. Police were already near the shooting scene to investigate an unrelated domestic disturbance when they heard gunshots about 12:30 a.m. They quickly found the victim but the shooter had fled. The victim died a short time later at Wishard Hospital.

Symphonies have long offered programs featuring movie clips. Or programs providing live accompaniment to silent movies. Only recently, though, have entire movies had their scores digitally removed so that an orchestra can play along.
