the rollout of plug-in electric cars and trucks. Both chambers of Congress are considering measures that would require the

County under a state quota have been allotted. Unless a restaurant is opening in an “off-quota” district, the

Police looking for men who tried to kidnap boy

July 1, 2010

Metro police are looking for two armed men who they said tried to kidnap a 10-year-old boy. The boy told investigator two
men were wearing black masks approached him and told him to come with them while he was walking home Tuesday near East 40th
Street and Guilford Avenue. When he refused, he said one of them took out a knife, asked to see his hand and then poked him
with it. The boy's hand injury was minor.

Police: Father shoots knife-wielding stepson

Investigators said it appears a man was protecting himself from his stepson when he fatally shot the 41-year-old Wednesday
night. Police said David Black, 41, suffered from schizophrenia and hadn’t been taking medicine. When police arrived,
the older man told investigators he had shot his stepson in the chest during an argument after Black approached him with a
knife and refused to drop it. The shooting happened in the 5100 block of Pin Oak Drive on the northwest side. Black was pronounced
dead at Wishard Memorial Hospital.

Teens arrested in apartment attacks

Police have broken up a group of teenagers they believe robbed and beat residents of a west-side apartment complex. A 16-year-old
was arrested Thursday morning after a woman reported three youths robbed her at gunpoint while she was walking into her home
on Lakeview Drive. An officer spotted the suspects in a neighboring complex. They’re now trying to link the trio to
several other reports of burglaries, robberies and assaults at Port-O-Call Apartments.

Ex-radio producer hurt in hit-and-run

A pedestrian who was struck while crossing Broad Ripple Avenue around 3 a.m. Thursday is a former cast member of the popular
Smiley Morning Show on WZPL-FM 99.5. Chris Van Sickle, known on-air as "Weed Man," is expected to be OK. Police
said Van Sickle was crossing Broad Ripple Avenue when a car hit him. He was taken to a hospital with head injuries. The Toyota
Camry was driven by Jalonda Reynolds, who police said left the scene and crashed the vehicle at East 71st Street and College
Avenue. She told investigators that she didn't see the pedestrian and panicked when she hit him. Reynolds was arrested
for driving with a suspended license and leaving the scene of an accident. Police said she was not intoxicated. Fox59 will
have more at 4 p.m.
