Teacher charged with battery

An Indianapolis Public Schools teacher faces battery and neglect charges after being accused of attacking her own child. The
22-year-old victim is developmentally disabled and lives at an assisted living center on the northeast side, according to
investigators. Staff members say Kimberly Tetrick, a special education teacher, slapped her daughter, then slammed her head
into a wall during an argument.

Two killed in east-side accident

A man and woman were killed Tuesday night in Indianapolis when the motorcycle they were riding hit a van head-on. Donald Wilson,
35, was not wearing a helmet, but Erica Evans Ford, 29, was. Both were pronounced dead on the scene near East 18th Street
and Massachusetts Avenue. The van's driver, Donald Gipson, 53, was not hurt. He has been charged with two counts of operating
a vehicle while intoxicated.

Mom accused of dumping baby not charged

The Marion County prosecutor isn’t yet filing formal charges against a 19-year-old accused of throwing her baby in the
trash. Carl Brizzi said he hopes investigators will be able to put pressure on Tasha Miller’s family and friends to
provide meaningful information. Witnesses keep giving conflicting information about what happened to the baby, he said. Brizzi
kept open the possibility of filing charges in the future. Investigators searched a Clinton County landfill for the baby’s
body with no luck. Fox59 will have more at 4 p.m.

Football coaches’ group to convene in Indianapolis

The four-day events in 2014 and 2019 are expected to draw about 7,000 attendees each and fill a total of more than 20,000
room nights, likely ranking among the city’s 25 largest conventions each year.
