-EJP Inc., a flea market, leased 29,000 square feet at 3900 S. East St. Liz Yoho of Providence Development represented the landlord, Expo Bowl Inc. The tenant represented itself.

-R. Falcone Automotive Inc. leased 19,632 square feet at 1906 W. 16th St. Mark Writt and Greg Witkowski of CB Richard Ellis represented the owner/landlord, 16th Street Properties LLC. The tenant represented itself.

Store clerk killed in struggle with robber

January 18, 2010

Indianapolis Metro Police are investigating a Saturday night homicide at a Shell station on the city’s west side. Investigators
say 52-year-old Ousmane Gueye was killed while working at the gas station near Kessler Boulevard and West 16th Street. Police
say Gueye apparently was engaged in a struggle with the suspect before his death. A customer found Gueye’s body about
9:20 p.m.

Frozen hydrants a problem for firefighters

A fire on the east side of Indianapolis kept crews busy late into the night Tuesday. Fire engulfed three businesses in the
4800 block of East Michigan Streetâ??an insurance company, a music studio and a sporting goods store. Getting it under control
was a challenge for firefighters, who had to contend with frozen hydrants for the second time this week. A fire early Monday
that burned down the Texas Roadhouse near 16th Street and Shadeland Avenue quickly spread because firefighters spent 15 minutes
looking for a non-frozen hydrant.

-Alcoa’s Fastening Systems Division leased 20,800 square feet at 5436-5446 W. 78th St., Park 100. Brian Seitz of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the tenant. The landlord, Duke Realty, was represented by Kate Willen of Duke.

-LaForce Inc. leased 8,277 square feet at 7750 Zionsville Road. John Hanley and Nikhil Gunale of CB Richard Ellis represented the tenant. The landlord/owner, 7750 Zionsville LLC, was represented by Kyle Powell and Michael Weishaar of Colliers Turley Martin Tucker.

Kroger shops for land: Grocer gathering property for full-size downtown store

Downtown residents might finally get their second full-service grocery store. There won’t be skyscrapers, horsedrawn carriages or a subway stop, but come 2007, Carmel will have its very own Central Park.
