Firefighters were called Wednesday morning to a home in Carmel on Santa Anita Court that was engulfed in flames. Officials
on the scene said that a resident had shot and killed himself inside, and that the fire started afterward. Neighbors said

A Carmel family managed to escape their home safely after lightning struck the roof just before 3 a.m. Monday, causing a
fire. Eight children and six adults were asleep in the home on Washita Court near 146th Street and Hazel Dell Parkway after
celebrating a family reunion. After the lightening hit, one of the family members noticed flames coming from the ventilation
system and put them out with a fire extinguisher.

A judge will hear arguments this afternoon to put a gag order in place in a high-profile Carmel assault case. Lawyers for
a former senior member of the Carmel High School basketball team accused of assaulting a freshman teammate will argue for
the order. The defendants want to limit comments made by everyone involved in the case, including lawyers, investigators,
court employees and police. Four members of the team are charged with misdemeanor offenses in the case. Legal analysts say

An Ohio father wanted in the death of his stepson is on the run after dropping off his son in Carmel. Zane Bedinger, 7, was
unharmed. Police say the boy was taken from Troy, Ohio, after his dad, Jeff Bedinger, killed his 22-year-old stepson, Zane’s
brother. Victim Brandon Haskins was shot multiple times. Police say Jeff Bedinger dropped his son off early Friday morning
at a friend's house in Carmel, about two hours away from Troy. Jeff Bedinger, 50, is believed to be armed and dangerous.
