Four rural Indiana telephone companies will get a total of more than $3 million in federal stimulus funding to provide DSL
broadband service to their service areas.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture says the grants will bring the high-speed Internet service to about 2,500 homes and about
80 businesses.
The Camden Telephone Co. will receive nearly $1.1 million, Tipton Telephone Co. more than $1 million, the Tri-County Telephone
Co. almost $600,000 and the Home Telephone Co. more than $400,000. Each of the companies are in central or western Indiana.
The four grants are among 126 in 38 states announced last week by USDA.
