Charred wood and twisted siding are all that is left from the fire early Saturday at the Shelby County Fairgrounds in Shelbyville.
City fire Lt. Jeff Tennell told The Shelbyville News that state and federal investigators are helping try to determine what caused the fire because of the amount of damage, but wouldn't say whether it was considered suspicious.
Fair President David Rush told WRTV that the fair will go on as scheduled July 2-7 even without the grandstand that has hosted events such as harness races, tractor pulls and demolition derbies.
