Pence doesn’t rule out vetoes of legislative bills

Gov. Mike Pence isn't ruling out the possibility that he might veto some bills from the Legislature dominated by his fellow Republicans.

Pence says his office would be reviewing some 70 bills that were approved in the final days of the legislative session that wrapped up early Saturday. The governor has seven days to consider signing or rejecting a bill after it is signed by legislative leaders and delivered to his office, something that hasn't yet happened with many proposals.

Pence wouldn't specify to reporters Monday any bills he was considering for veto other than saying he had concerns about a bill making changes to the Indianapolis city government.

Indiana's constitution allows the Legislature to override any gubernatorial veto with simple majorities of the House and Senate.
