The Indianapolis Colts hired John Park on Wednesday as their new head of football research and analytics.

Park is expected to use statistical research to help the Colts evaluate players, coaches and salary cap moves. He also will be involved in medical, strength and conditioning evaluations.

It will be his first full-time job in the NFL. Park spent the last four months as an intern with the NFL's Player Engagement department after serving as Rutgers' player development/recruiting assistant from 2014-15. He also has worked as an independent contractor for the Cleveland Browns.

Park also worked previously with two New York-based firms, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Alvarez and Marsal's, from 2009-14, and in the music industry. He earned a master's degree in actuarial science from Columbia University.
