Indianapolis-based leadership consulting firm FlashPoint Inc. has expanded its client base by acquiring a Sonoma, California-based company, FlashPoint executives announced Monday.

FlashPoint closed on the acquisition of Sonoma Leadership Systems on Sunday. Terms of the deal were not announced.

Sonoma, which has five employees, will continue to operate in California under the Flashpoint name. Founder Jeni Nichols, who was planning to retire, will remain as a consultant for six months.

FlashPoint, founded by Krista Skidmore and Andrea Davis Cranfill in 2002, has 16 full-time employees.

The acquisition will make FlashPoint the top provider of the Leadership Challenge, a popular talent-development program. It also increases the company’s client base to more than 150 with the additions of Patagonia Inc., Samsung Group, Travelers and Nestle USA, among others.
