The Fountain Square neighborhood will meet at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Shelbi Street Café & Bistro Lounge to mark
the start of work on a $650,000 project to replace its landmark fountain.

Neighborhood leaders, city officials
and residents are expected to attend. By November, a reproduction of Lady Spray, the statue that topped the Square’s
first fountain, should be installed. The “Pioneer Family” sculpture, which currently sits atop the fountain,
will be moved temporarily to Garfield Park before returning to the neighborhood at another location.

Fountain
Square, southeast of downtown, is one of six designated cultural districts in Indianapolis.
