  1. The Indiana General Assembly wasted an insane amount of time on this. We were never, ever going to get the Bears, and we would have been foolish to spend $2 billion to do so. Let them go and pump that $2 billion into new housing and public services in Lake County anchored around the South Shore.

    1. The Bill has to get approved by the Illinois senate now and when you read the article, you’ll see that the amendments made might not get through the senate as is. Basically this isn’t a done deal for Illinois to keep DA BEARS. Not by a long shot….

    2. Wasted an “insane” amount of time? Nah. Obviously has always more likely Bears wind up staying, but there is still a shot – especially w/ the abikity of Illinois politicians to shoot themselves in the foot – worth the time spent for that shot.

Internally, in the wake of the bruising redistricting battle, was nice to have something unifying the entire State Captial bldg could rally around.

    3. Agree and somehow were able to raise taxes to fund the needs of Bears but nothing for other taxpayers. Priorities?!

    4. Have to be concerned about how much cash we’ve funneled to consultants for this racket

    5. The Bears are never coming to Indiana. It was never even a serious proposition, but our Assembly members are beyond gullible. It’s just not going to happen and it never was. As with most stadium-based economic development efforts, this has been a waste of time and resources.
