If Lauren Lai believes she has all the answers and how it all works, then she should maybe run for elected office and learn for real. Being an activist is much easier than actual legal responsibility within the law and established legal enforcement. It’s taken Hogsett over 8 years and in his third term as mayor just to get this far with his programs. Ms Lai’s idealistic socialism hides behind her activist claims, and appears to have clouded what it really takes to begin to solve homeless and illegal immigrant problems. Maybe she should invite some homeless folks to her house and some illegal immigrants. I’m sure it would all be an exciting and successful experience for all.
What does it really take to solve homelessness and illegal immigration? She might bereadingbthese comments. Please, enlighten us

Government solutions typically do not work as well as private sector organizations such as the church communities.
It’s good that people care enough to get involved to solve very difficult social issues.
