  1. If the new rule is that someone can murder the CEO of a company because the cowardly murderer believes the corporation makes a profit, then we no longer have a society governed by the rule of law. I wasn’t happy with a car repair; can I go shoot the owner of the service because his company made a profit and I had a bad customer service experience. Now extend that to every transaction in your life. If you’re not happy, are you now empowered to go murder the CEO of the company causing your unhappines. If so, WalMart execs need to be on the lookout, because I’ve got a beef with them…
That simply can’t be the way it works. And for anyone who sees this as anything more than a coward murdering an innocent man, and thinks maybe the coward had justification, remedial education is in order. They missed the key lessons of life growing up.

  2. Insurance companies enter into contracts to provide healthcare coverage in exchange for premiums. Denial of coverage can and does lead to the suffering and death of individuals who have paid, directly or indirectly, for that coverage. Should insurance companies be allowed to cause the deaths of quantifiable numbers of such people simply because they don’t specifically target “John Smith” and “Jane Doe?” What’s the difference between deliberately killing Brian Thompson and implementing policies that you KNOW (via those algorithms employed specifically to deny coverage) that will lead to the deaths of thousands of John Smiths and Jane Does, even if you don’t know exactly which ones?
