  1. At a later date I became good friends with Jack Marks, a retired Indiana State Police officer, who told me of this “incident” that happened when he was assigned to guard the Beatles while they stayed at the Speedway Motel. Around 5 in the morning, he was approached by Ringo Starr who said he was hungry and did Jack know where he could get something to eat. Jack had an “idea” and he and Ringo got into his State Police car and he drove him around the Circle and up Meridian Street to his farm home in Noblesville where his wife got up and fixed breakfast for them. He said that Ringo was very humbled and thankful for their generosity. After an hour or so, he drove Ringo back to the Speedway Motel and life just continued for all. An amazing story to hear firsthand and the former “Marks property” is still viable today as if nothing ever happened there.
