What this article neglects to point out is that Trump’s riches were made possible by a conservative majority on the Supreme Court that granted him immunity for actions that were formerly deemed illegal.
You must be new to our country!! If you’re here legally, welcome!! Trump was a billionaire before he became President. The only prosecution that seems to have had legs was ridiculous in that it alleged that Trump inflated asset values to get loans, which were paid back. In our country, no financial institution loans money on the applicant’s asset valuation. Again, welcome to America!
Trump’s corrupt acts to make this much money in less than two years in his second term are well documented. I’d recommend the episode of Plain English podcast where the hosts do a snake draft of Trump’s most corrupt acts so far. They had a lot to choose from, and his crypto scheme featured heavily. We know that his loyal cultists like John won’t ever care because they’re the sheep they claim to hate so much, but boy I can’t wait for the investigations and impeachments starting in November when Dems take back the House AND the Senate
Correct.
John, you sound like a lunatic. This is why Conservatives aren’t taken seriously, even in the workplace. I’ve lost count of how many Conservatives have been fired from my office for their incompetence.
Drain the swamp, John!
(Isn’t it amazing how Trump has, on every topic, delivered the exact opposite of what he promised?)
Joe B.
I agree, drain the swamp!!
Great campaign slogan, but probably will not happen until we hold our elected leaders accountable.
Both Dem and the R’s.
Michael N.
Do we really want to go down that road of political revenge again. It’s tiring and people are tired of it.
Regardless if it’s Trump or the Dems going down the road of vengeance. It’s tiring.
A.R.
lol….Its probably conservatives being fired because they voted Trump and nothing else.
I’ve noticed that TDS people are extremely judgemental.
Now anti Trumpers are breaking off friendships because they’ve been told too by some halfwit
from Yale University. The self righteousness of the left is truly nauseating.
I’ve heard a few times that leftist see conservatives as evil.
Conservatives see leftists as misguided. Huge difference.
I personally do not know of any conservative that has broken off a friendship because of politics. But I know several leftists that have.
Sad but true.
Keith, I think corruption is always worth investigating and bringing to light. Impeachment is truly the only recourse against a corrupt president given their total immunity from criminal prosecution. Like I said, the corruption is already well-documented at a surface level and the American people deserve to know more about how their president and his family are $2B in a year and a half. Questions I would like to see answered:
1. Did Trump’s pardon of the Binance CEO come as a result of any discussions about Trump’s crypto firm World Liberty Financial?
2. Have companies in which the Trump family sits on the board or otherwise invest in been given any no-bid contracts? We know they’ve been given govt contracts, the drone company Unusual Machines that Trump Jr is an advisor for. Were there any other bidders if they were not no-bid?
3. Trump says he asked for the Qatari jet. Was there any suggestion or follow through on a quid pro quo?
You say you want Congress to do its job and legislate in other comments. I agree. Congress’s other job is oversight, and they should get back to making that a core function regardless of who the president is. If a Democrat was doing all of this, I’d be saying the same exact thing.
Michael N,
+1
As you laid it out, I have no problem with an investigation.
My rub was the political revenge factor being the sole factor for a witch hunt.
The political witch hunt was prevalent during and after Trumps first term. People saw the unfairness in that.
Trump is also conducting political witch hunts. That is not acceptable either.
Oh John….Trumpo’s “billionaire” status pre-2016 is highly questioned….he never released his tax returns, which would’ve confirmed or denied all such claims. He promised to put his asset sin a blind trust, which he did not do. Grifting is his family’s stock-in-trade.
Rick S.
Trump did release his tax returns during his first term and it was an embarrassment for Dems.
The Dems thought they had a
“ Gotta ya “ moment. It was just the opposite.
Trump paid more in taxes in actual dollars and a higher percentage than President Obama.
The Dems and their National news media allies had egg all over their faces.
Lol…And I’m not even on the Trump train. He says many things that are uncalled for.
They were released in 2020 and he paid $1500 over a 2 year period and the rest were write offs related to business expenses.
He’s supposed to be this amazing business man. He’s a terrible business man, terrible leader, and morally corrupt. He’s beloved by some because he’s given them a permission slip to be bigoted because they think the “other” is coming to get them and they need a scapegoat for all of their imaginary problems.
Ryan S.
I believe he paid more in taxes percentage wise and in actual dollars than Obama.
The Dems and their National news media allies were embarrassed.
I find it hard to believe that Trump only paid $ 1,500 dollars in taxes over two years. If that were true the Dems would have been very jubilant in their Trump TDS “ Gotcha “ moment.
Trump utilized the legal tax breaks that were legal no doubt.
Losses on real estate value and business income can be carried over for seven years.
That said, I disagree with Trump on many things. Especially the mass deportations and his lack of loyalty to people that supported him.
And bribes. You forgot bribes.
I have said it befoer, and will say it again; Trump does nothing unless their is a profit in it for him!
