  1. Section 230 may protect social media companies from the responsibility of screening harmful content, but if how they choose to deliver ANY content is causing harm, we could see big changes. BUT first, we are going to see years worth of appeals because that’s what you do when you have lots of money and can afford to litigate forever. I’m not holding my breath for the next 3-5 years expecting anything to change soon. This will have to go all the way to the Supreme Court before we see any changes.

    I don’t have any kids, but I’m involved in a local Scout troop and I will say from what little first hand experience I have, that social media and cell phones are pretty toxic.

  2. These verdicts are akin to the verdicts against Purdue Pharmaceutical for continuing to lie about the addictiveness of OxyContin. They knew it was addictive and was causing issues, yet ignored the warning signs in the name of profits. The same is happening with big tech. However I am sure with enough money, the Trump administration will bail them out and they will be forgiven and nothing will change.
