A federal judge Monday dismissed the case against one defendant named in a lawsuit filed by the parents of missing Indiana University student Lauren Spierer. An Indianapolis mother was responsible for the death of her 2-year-old daughter, police said Tuesday. Brittney Massey, 23, was charged with murder, battery resulting in death and neglect of a dependent resulting in death.
