An adult video store clerk was stabbed to death in Bloomington on Monday night. Police say Lauren Kahn, 47, was stabbed multiple times during an apparent attempted robbery at Garden of Eden in the 700 block of South Walnut Street. She was taken to IU Health-Bloomington, where she died of her injuries. Michael Angle, 26, turned himself into police and admitted to the crimes, police said. He is charged with murder and attempted robbery.
A tornado struck a southern Indiana town Monday night, tearing the roof off the police and fire headquarters and leaving debris piled on the courthouse square. The National Weather Service said the storm damaged numerous buildings in the Orange County town of Paoli, about 40 miles northwest of Louisville. The town had widespread power outages following the storm, but no injuries were reported. The weather service said the damage was done by a tornado with winds of about 95 mph. Several homes and businesses had roofs torn off or windows blown in.
