Two children died in the Indianapolis area Monday night in separate incidents after they were struck by vehicles. Binford Boulevard was closed more than two hours Tuesday morning after a fatal car crash. Chong I. Chong, a 75-year-old woman, died in the two-vehicle collision just north of East 52nd Street. According to police, a driver of a van crashed into the side of Chong’s car about 5 a.m. after she pulled in front of him as he traveled on Binford. The van’s driver was uninjured. Police say speed and alcohol don’t appear to be factors in the crash.
