Obama gives states $250 million to review insurance premiums

and individual policies, areas that have seen the biggest increases in recent years.

-Maintenance Supply Headquarters LLC leased 49,977 square feet in Gateway Park Building II, 851 S. Columbia Road, Plainfield. The tenant was represented by Kevin Kempf of Cassidy Turley and Bill Littleton of Colliers International. The landlord, a joint venture of Coastal Partners LLC and HSA Commercial Real Estate, was represented by Terry Busch, Nikhil Gunale and John Hanley of CB Richard Ellis.

-IndiLABEL LLC leased 10,000 square feet of industrial space at 2198 Reeves Road, Plainfield. The tenant was represented by J.D. Graves of Cassidy Turley. The landlords, Damon and Patricia Jones, were represented by Patrick Lindley and Kevin Kempf of Cassidy Turley.

-Cancun Mexican Restaurant leased 4,550 square feet at Old Town Shoppes, 1268 W. 86th St. The tenant was represented by David Simons of Velocity Commercial Real Estate LLC. The landlord, Sandor Development, was represented by Jamison Downs and John Holloway of Sandor.
 
-Advanced Physical Therapy leased 2,400 square feet at State Road 44 and Progress Parkway, Shelbyville. The tenant was represented by Stephen Adams of Hokanson Companies. The landlord, Duran Property Group, was represented by Chris Hake of Thompson Thrift.
 
-Interstate Batteries leased 2,203 square feet at Rockville Pointe, 10730 E. US Highway 36, Avon. The tenant was represented by Lee Wilhite of CB Richard Ellis. The landlord, 10720 E. US HWY 36 LLC was represented by Carrie Thrift of Thompson Thrift.

-La Familia Madrid Inc. leased 2,000 square feet at Southport Pavilion, 5325 E. Southport Road. The tenant was represented by Kelli Membreno of Libertad Real Estate. The landlord, Southport Pavilion LLC, was represented by Donna Hovey and Shannon Hicks of CB Richard Ellis.

-La Raza Pizza Inc. renewed its 1,737-square-foot lease in the Crooked Creek Shopping Center, 7828 N. Michigan Road. The landlord, Crooked Creek Centre LLC, was represented by Lee Wilhite of CB Richard Ellis. The tenant represented itself.

-Little Caesar’s Pizza leased 1,575 square feet at 4477 E. 10th St. The tenant was represented by Ron Mannon of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co. The landlord, Bodner Properties LLC, was represented by Cheryl Moore of Bruce Bodner Co.

-CEEZ GENESIS LLC leased 1,500 square feet at Parkside Shoppes, 9522 E. 126th St., Fishers. The tenant was represented by Steve Beals of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co. The landlord, Pendleton/Parkside LLC, represented itself.

-Sugar Creek Enterprises LLC leased 1,500 square feet at 500 S. Polk St., Suite 15, Greenwood. The tenant and landlord, Greenwood Oaks Investments LLC, were represented by Cathy Richards of Grubb & Ellis Harding Dahm & Co.

-Silky Nails leased 1,200 square feet at the southwest corner of State Road 44 and Progress Parkway, Shelbyville. The landlord, Duran Property Group, was represented by Chris Hake of Thompson Thrift. The tenant represented itself.

-NarrowGateMedia.com leased 848 square feet of office space in the Harrison Park Business Center, 8902 Otis Ave. The tenant was represented by Sandra Jarvis of IndySQUARED. The landlord, Harrison Park Properties LLC, represented itself.

Housing

June 7, 2010

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the pace of mortgage loan activity increased 0.9 percent for the week ended May 28, according to the Mortgage Bankers Association. The rate for 30-year mortgages increased to 4.83 percent from 4.8 percent the previous week. The rate for 15-year mortgages decreased to 4.24 percent from 4.25 percent.

Meyer Najem Construction has been hired to do a 37,900-square-foot build-out for the Indiana Math and Science Academy North, to be built in the Junior Achievement building at 74th Street and Keystone Avenue. The project is scheduled to be completed by this fall.

The sublandlord, Nelnet Inc., was represented by Brooke Augustin and Bryan Augustin of NAI Olympia Partners. The subtenant, Samex Capital Partners LLC and Samex Capital Advisors LLC, represented themselves. The lease involving the same parties that appeared in last week’s Real Estate Weekly was incorrect.

Fort Ben home, condos headed to auction

The former home of the commanding general at Fort Benjamin Harrison and four condominiums at the old army base are being auctioned June 17, a reflection of the difficulty of selling high-end condos in a soft real estate market.

Walgreen gets OK to sell booze at 18 more stores

The Local Alcoholic Beverage Board of Marion County recommended permits for 18 of the 28 stores for which Walgreens is seeking
to sell alcohol. Approval by the Indiana Alcohol Tobacco Commission could happen as soon as June. 15.

Gary mayor wants casino taxes paid before license vote

Gary Mayor Rudy Clay is calling for the Majestic Star casino to pay $22 million in overdue Lake County taxes before state
regulators vote on whether to renew the Gary casino's license.

Wedding party’s bus crash under investigation

June 7, 2010

The shuttle bus involved in a fatal downtown accident on Saturday ran a red light and smashed into an SUV, according to witnesses.
A wedding party was on the bus when it crashed at South and Delaware streets, and a groomsman died in the accident. Most of
the passengers were taken to local hospitals to be treated.  No charges have been filed, but the crash is still under
investigation.

Five tornadoes confirmed in Indiana

June 7, 2010

The National Weather Service confirms five tornadoes roared through Indiana early Sunday morning. Two twisters were spotted
in Carroll County just after 2 a.m., leaving a trail of destruction near the town of Yeoman. There were no injuries associated
with the storm, but it did cause hundreds of thousands of dollars in damage to a local business and a church. In Miami County,
one tornado destroyed a dozen barns and homes. Tornado touchdowns also were reported in White County and Cass County. Fox59
will have more at 4 p.m.
