Indianapolis police officer Jerry Piland has been fired after an investigation into allegations of excessive force, Chief
Paul Ciesielski announced this morning. The investigation showed Piland unnecessarily kneed 15-year-old Brandon Johnson while
he was on the ground being handcuffed during a disorderly conduct arrest on May 16. Other officers involved in the arrest,
David Carney, Oliver Clouthier, Stacy Letinga and Joshua Shaughnessy, will return to street duty, but Letinga will receive
